FROM INFANCY TO THEIR GOLDEN YEARS
, people with developmental disabilities deserve every opportunity to reach their fullest potential. Gateway Center of Monterey County, Inc. has led the way to fulfilling personal and occupational dreams for hundreds of people in Monterey County.
As our name implies, Gateway’s mission is to open a door of opportunity to everyone it serves. A 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization, Gateway Center is a premiere provider of high quality services and training for persons with one or more disabilities that can include mental retardation, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and autism. These conditions, of course limit the scope of their dreams. But with our assistance, most can live, work, and participate in their communities, with (or sometimes without) supervision. From an expansive residential facility and semi-independent group homes to professionally run day programs that teach life skills, Gateway Center guides its participants on a path toward independence and self sufficiency. We do so by recognizing the needs of each individual in a supportive group setting. All of us associated with Gateway Center embrace a common philosophy and code of values. Gateway Center makes it possible not only to make dreams come true, but to have dreams in the first place.
